Translation costs generally and court ordered translations of legal documents

If communication is conducted in English we will provide a short informaiton summary of received an sent-out communication. Fees incurred by any necessary translation of documents will be added if a comprehensive explanation of the contents in an overall summary is impossible or inappropriate.

Translators' and interpreters' fees in litigation matters

Interpreters and translators called by the court receive a fee that is also fixed by the Judicial Remuneration and Compensation Act (Justizverguetungs- und –entschaedigungsgesetz - JVEG) and is paid by the parties to the proceedings. Interpreters are paid an hourly rate and translators are paid by lines.

At the end of the trial the losing party will only have to bear those translation costs, that have been ordered by the court.
